Neon

Dodge

After watching a few YouTube videos discussing the topic of "game-feel", I decided to try my hand at making a small game that felt satisfying for me to play.

In the process of doing so, I discovered a lot about various techniques used to make a game "feel good".

Utilising particle effects, audio effects, music and bright, colourful visuals - I believe Neon Dodge was successful in allowing me to learn what I intended from the outset.

The process of destroying the barriers, picking up the coins and more all had their own unique feeling to them, communicated the player via audio cues and visual effects.

The simplicity of the game's graphics work well alongside the intentionally simplistic gameplay, not polluting the screen with too many complex shapes or visuals.

Tools used: Unity, C#, GitKraken, Audacity
